Set in an area of urban growth, Martina Arquitetura ‘s latest multi-family building in Gondomar establishes a fluid relationship between architecture and landscape.

Located next to the city’s future green park, the building seeks to integrate naturally into its context, balancing geometric rigor and an open relationship with the surrounding space.

Elegance in green harmony

Geometry and integration with the surroundings

With its rectilinear lines and restrained design, the building reveals itself through strategically placed openings that let in natural light and incorporate green elements, bringing the landscape into the architecture.

Slightly set back from the edge of the plot, the project allows the vegetation to surround the building, creating a smooth transition between the building and the public space.
More than an isolated volume, the project proposes a subtle and balanced integration with the city, accompanying its transformation and reinforcing the link between housing and green space.

Living in natural balance

Housing Functionality

Developed in response to the growing need for housing in the region, the building offers one and two bedroom apartments, adapted to different resident profiles. The communal areas extend out into the gardens of the grounds, promoting closer contact with nature and creating spaces for interaction and relaxation.

Habitability

Materiality and structure

The natural stone façade gives the building a discreet and lasting presence, in harmony with the urban environment. The minimalist window frames reinforce the transparency and fluidity between interior and exterior, providing greater natural light and a sense of structural lightness.
With an approach that values formal simplicity and the relationship with the context, Martina Architecture proposes a building that is carefully inserted into the city, promoting quality of life and a continuous dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Unique characteristics that set it apart

Dialogue with the Urban Park: The building’s relationship with the future green park is established through strategic openings that incorporate natural elements inside the building, promoting a fluid integration between the built space and the surrounding landscape.

Placement on the plot: The building sits precisely on the plot, keeping its distance from the boundaries of the land. This approach allows the vegetation to surround the structure, creating a smooth transition between the urban and natural environments.

Types adapted to local needs: With one to two bedroom apartments, the project responds to the region’s housing shortage.

Common Areas Integrated into the Landscape: The common spaces are designed to extend into the green areas of the plot, reinforcing the connection with the natural environment.

Materiality and Detail: The use of natural stone on the façade is balanced with minimalist window frames.
